My son is all excited about joining Little League. He's nine and has two years of instructional baseball under his belt and feels ready to wear a real uniform and play ball, he says. So he's got his glove under his mattress, where it's getting broken in these last weeks of winter weather before the season starts. And we were talking about going to get cleats the other day, an exciting prospect in and of itself, I'm told. In the midst of this conversation, my son's face turned serious and upset. I asked what was up and he told me he hopes there will not be any fighting in this league. Fighting, why would you be thinking of that, there was not any fighting in the parks and recreation league last year, was there, I asked?
